Fairwater RFC vs. Tylorstown RFC Match Report (Sat 8th Oct 2022)

Tylorstown travelled down to Cardiff for their latest league game.

Fairwater away is never an easy place to go and play and again this was a hard game played in excellent conditions.

Tylorstown started well and had the better of the first twenty minutes or so but the home team defended thanks thier try line with a great determination and all Tylorstown had to show for their pressure was a Jordan Williams penalty.

Fairwater started to get back in the game and after a period of pressure in which Tylorstown gave away several penalties two of which were converted by Fairwater. As a result of all these penalties given away back row forward Marcus Thomas was yellow carded.

The game then had two lengthy delays firstly when Jake Jones received a blow to the head from an accidental stray boot. Jake failed his HIA test (he was never any good at exams) and had to leave the field to be replaced by Chris Lloydd.

Next play  the referee went down  after colliding with one of the Fairwater players unfortunately he passed his HIA.

Tylorstown should have scored with the last move of the first half after Jordan Williams burst through the defence but his pass didn't go to hand , chance lost.
 Fairwater 6-3 up half time.

Fairwater started the second half on top and only good defence kept them at bay. With all the pressure a try had to come and from a pass from the Fairwater quarter back to their wide receiver the wing scored wide out.  This was converted with an excellent kick.

Tylorstown then had the better of the remainder of the game but could not convert the pressure into points.

Game finished 13-6 to Fairwater.

This was a game Tylorstown could have had more out of than the one losing point they gained.

Next Saturday we are home to Abertysswg in the cup.
