Tylorstown V Cardiff Saracens Match Report

Tylorstown – 14

Cardiff Saracens – 7

Tylorstown’s winning streak continues by performing the double on the Cardiff side. Unfortunately Tylorstown squandered many chances and will feel deflated that they did not gain a bonus point due to the abundance of possession the home side had.

Tylorstown’s strong scrummage was too much for the visitors with the front row of Ashley Thomas, Jordan Willis and Aidan O’Donaghue proving far too strong for the City side. Replacement front row forwards Rhys Edwards and hooker Jamie Davies proved effective when they came on and shows that Tylorstown should last the game against better opponents in the future with such resources on hand in the front row.

Home half backs Kieran Richards and Liam Morris marshalled the game well but with only one try from the glut of ball the backs had, Tylorstown will feel they should have done better when in possession. The try came from a line out and drive. The ball went through the hands for young wing Chris Griffiths to touch down in the corner.

Centre Michael Melhuish kicked three penalties to keep Tylorstown ahead despite a try for the visitors.

Next week Tylorstown travel to Llantwit Major who will put up a stern challenge to the Rhondda side.
